Capacity Growth Assumptions – Update

On the 11th of December 2020 the prime ministers and presidents of the EU agreed to increase the emission target for 2030 from 40% to 55% compared to 1990: a further step toward a full decarbonization by 2050 (2030 Climate Target Plan | Climate Action (europa.eu))

Taking the new ambitions of the member states into account, we have lately reviewed our assumptions for capacity growth of wind and solar in most of Europe.

In particular the normal, the weather30 data and weather-years extended take the latest upgrade into account.

Next Steps

We are going to review once more some assumptions for Poland and Italy in the next months.
